Old South Weekend

This past weekend, I traveled along with my date, Spencer, and many others down to New Orleans for the Ole Miss KA spring formal, better known as "Old South." Old South is a once a year party unlike any other.  All the girls wear old southern, antebellum style dresses.  This year, Old South was at the St. Joseph Plantation in Vacherie, LA.
Upon our arrival, everyone leaped off the buses as fast as we could to get the afternoon started. We ate, danced, and watched the sunset over the Mississippi River.  When we all looked around, it was truly like stepping back in time.  Girls walking hand in hand with their dates, bright colored dresses of all different styles, and a beautiful plantation home sitting in what seemed to feel like the middle of nowhere. It was so unique.  I think what makes this party so special from all of the others is because it is so different. They are almost incomparable.
When arriving in Oxford Sunday night, everyone wanted to know how it was. I really do think it was one of my favorite things I have done in all of college.  It was a different and fun weekend getaway with some really cool people.

Here are a few pictures from our weekend in New Orleans:
