Friday Favorites

It's been awhile since I have done a "Friday Favorite." This weeks post is a collection of a few things I've found on Pinterest.

Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!

Waking Up in Vegas

Every time I think of Las Vegas I automatically think of "Waking Up in Vegas" or "Firework" by Katy Perry. Our vacation was much more on the "Firework" end of things.  This fourth of July, my family and I traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada for a vacation like no other. Honestly, I was nervous before we left because I had no idea what were we going to do there for an entire week. I'm the oldest of four, so clearly we didn't plan on late nights at the slots.

From the moment we landed, I knew this was going to be a vacation unlike any we had ever had before. Hands down one of my favorite trips we have ever taken.

Las Vegas is in the middle of nowhere. Seriously.

I mean if you don't take a picture in front of the Vegas sign, did you really even go?

Philip's one request on the trip was to go to see the "Pawn Stars" shop.

So there is a building towards the end of the strip called the Stratosphere. It's the tallest building west of the Mississippi river. Our driver told us we had to ride the rides at the top while we were in town, so it was the first thing that we did!

Check out the rides here!

Cake Boss

Is he not the cutest?

Criss Angel's magic show was one of the highlights of our trip! A must see.

NY, NY. Such a fun roller coaster.
Didn't know what heat was until this trip.

Our Dad surprised us towards the end of the week with a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and a rafting day down the CO River.  Coolest thing ever.
Hoover Dam.

Fam jam.

Fireworks on July 4th!

Can't wait to come back soon!

The District of Columbia

Washington is my new favorite place. I've been meaning to write about my trip to the Capitol, but I am just now getting around to it.

My friend Mary Elizabeth and I spent a full week in D.C. So excited to share a little bit of our trip with you!

Washington Nationals Game with Pearce!

Mary Elizabeth and I in the Washington Monument. Fun Fact: It is a freestanding monument which means it is held together only by gravity. They didn't tell us that until we were at the top.

Michelle Obama leaving the Botanic Garden. We just happened to walk by at the right time.

JFK and Jackie's grave. Jackie Kennedy= My role model

This was the coolest thing we were able to do. On our tour through Senator Wickers office, we were able to go on Speaker John Boehner's Balcony. It looks directly down the Mall.

We also were able to go to the Senate Press Room. AKA I got to fill in for Olivia Pope.

Biking around Georgetown.

We biked from Arlington Cemetery to the Jefferson Memorial. For those of you who have been to Washington, yes I know. It took forever.

View from Lincoln Memorial.

 Too neat not to share.

Reppin' for my State.

So sad to leave this beautiful city. I hope to be back very soon.

Until next time D.C.

XOXO,

Heather
