Cheers to Trying New Things

Yes, I am wearing camo in the pictures below.  I had to blink twice at 5:00 AM Saturday morning to make sure I was seeing things correctly, too.  If you know me, you know this is way out of my element.  Shockingly, I am not really known as a "hunter gatherer." I know that may come as a shock to most people. Surprisingly enough, this past weekend in Arkansas was so much fun.  My friend, Fran, invited a few of us to her hometown for a weekend of "Trying New Things." I think I tried more new things this past weekend than I have in my entire life.  We woke up early Saturday and went duck hunting. We even got our limit (I am not sure exactly what "limit" means, so I just went along with it). That afternoon we even cleaned the ducks. Don't worry, I wont spill to many details on that because I would rather not explain the process.
The best surprise of the weekend was the Coon Supper. Fran didn't tell us where we were going until ten minutes before we left.  The neighboring town has an annual supper to provide scholarships for each of the graduating seniors. The dinner was so neat.  The entire town gathered in the old high school gym for this event.  We all tried raccoon because we assumed it would be good since there was a whole evening dedicated to it. Apparently, no one eats it because it is disgusting. At least now we can all say we tried something new!

I even wore waders. Dad, be proud.

Finishing the hunt Phantom of the Opera style. Well..kinda.

Cleaning the ducks. Again Dad, be proud.

Arkansassy, thanks for teaching me your ways. Until next time.
XOXO
